Brief History of Colegio de San Juan de Letran-Calamba

Colegio de San Juan de Letran Calamba started as an extension campus of Letran Manila. Born on March 07, 1979 in an 11-hectare tract of land in Bucal, Calamba City, Laguna, it gained its autonomy on August 7, 1986. It has, since its foundation, ardently contributed to the advancement of the youth from different towns and cities of Laguna, Cavite, Batangas, and Quezon. It prides itself with producing graduates who have landed top positions in board examinations and are now successful professionals serving in managerial capacities in various multinational corporations in the country and abroad.
Letran Calamba’s campus, dubbed as the Escorial of the South (Philippine Daily Inquirer, 2004), sits at the foothills of the majestic Mt. Makiling. True to its ideals, Letran Calamba is a fine example of the synergy of quality education, spiritual evangelization, and patriotism. Anchored on the motto, DEUS, PATRIA, LETRAN, its vision of becoming a University will definitely see fulfillment in the near future. Arriba, Letran!

32nd Foundation Day!..(Party, Party!)

Traditionally, every year, the Colegio de San Juan de Letran Calamba Celebrates its foundation day. And a part of it was to have a mini carnival inside the campus. It was located in the Sunken Garden. There were two rides, the Octopus and the Lantern. It was really a deadly experience to ride in. Yet, fulfilling. Anyway, there was also a Horror House located in the Student Center. We haven't got there. But as far as we have known, Elementary Students were the ones who had build it. Hmmmm.. For that, I guess that brought lessen thrill for the High School students. Especially for the College Students.

There seems a food court in the parking area in front of the main building. Different stalls were there. Jollibee, Chowking, Shakeys, Shomai Haus, Bugong and many more. Some non-academic organizations also build a food stall. It might serve as their source of fund. Not bad. Book Store, Henna-Tattoo, Picture Stations, Smart Sim, and etc. were also included.

Job offering companies can be found inside the rooms of the L builduing. Like AVON. On the C building, along the way of admissions and accounting offices, were the booths promoting their banks, and giving forms for opening accounts.

The whole week was really enjoyable.
